(GDR Discourses—Interdisciplinary Studies on Language, Country and Society)
The basis of this series is the fundamental conviction that the reality of the GDR existed largely through and in discourse(s). It thus sees itself as a forum for interdisciplinary work of researching the discursive construction of the former SED state. It is open to all approaches in literary, linguistic, media and cultural studies focussing on theoretically and methodologically sound concepts of discourse and working accordingly on empirical corpora.
Inter-culturally oriented works looking at the GDR from a non-German perspective or comparing it with other similar regimes are particularly welcome. Manuscripts in the form of monographs (also qualification papers) and anthologies are generally acceptable. Conference proceedings will only be considered with an editorial follow-up on the part of the volume’s editor and if the they appear as a coherent whole.
Before publication, every manuscript is anonymously reviewed by the series’ editors and/or by external scientists.
